Your own web address and email on FANDEMiQ
We’ll move your fan app and fan emails onto your own brand. FANDEMiQ does the setup. From you we need a few decisions, two DNS records added by your IT team, and either a sending account on your mail server or a few more DNS records so we can send from your domain.
Fan app web address
fans.fqsports.app
Where fans take part and upload, usually from a QR code. Replaces the FANDEMiQ link.
Fan emails come from
fans@fqsports.app
Sent by FANDEMiQ from your domain, under your name.
How fan emails are sent
Either works, and fans see your address both ways. Pick one and the rest of this page follows it.
- Your IT team gives us a sending account on your mail server.
- Its sending limits need to cover a full stadium.
- If your server refuses an email, the fan waits until it is fixed.
- Your IT team adds a few extra DNS records. No account or password.
- No sending limits on your side, however busy the event.
- If the records ever break, fans still get their email, from our address.
What we need from you
Please send us everything below. Rows marked IT come from your IT team. Until each part is live, fans keep using your current link and emails keep coming from FANDEMiQ, so nothing stops in the meantime.
| What | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fan app web address | fans.fqsports.app | The page fans open on their phone, usually from a QR code, to take part and upload their photos and videos. A new name under your website, not your main address itself. Choose one you are happy to print on QR codes. |
| Address fan emails come from | fans@fqsports.app | On your own domain or your fan app web address. It doesn’t need a mailbox behind it: replies go to the reply address. |
| Sender name fans see | FQ Sports | Can differ per event, for example a sponsor activation. |
| Reply address | supporters@fqsports.app | Where fans’ replies go. Can differ per event. |
| IT contact | Name and email | For the DNS records and any test issues. |
What we’ll set up
Once we have your details, the only things left on your side are DNS records: two for the web address and a few for email.
We register your web address
FANDEMiQWe add it to the platform and send your IT contact the two DNS records it needs.
Your IT team adds two DNS records
Your IT teamExactly as we send them. The values are generated when we register the address.
Type Host Value Purpose CNAME fans.fqsports.app A FANDEMiQ address we send you Sends fans to your app TXT _dnsauth.fans.fqsports.app A code we send you Proves the address is yours - Many DNS tools want only the first part in the Host field:
fansand_dnsauth.fans. - If your DNS is behind Cloudflare, set the CNAME to DNS only (not proxied).
- Keep both records for as long as you use the address. The certificate renews from them.
- Many DNS tools want only the first part in the Host field:
We confirm the address is live
FANDEMiQThe https certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
We register your sender address
FANDEMiQWith our email provider, and send your IT contact the DNS records that let us send as your domain.
Your IT team adds the email records
Your IT teamA few TXT and MX records, exactly as we send them. They authorise sending only: your own email carries on as it is.
We confirm your address is verified
FANDEMiQThen we set your sender name, reply address and email wording on each event.
We test it with you
FANDEMiQYouBefore the first event that uses it. See Testing together, below.
Once it’s live
The links in fans’ emails (FanMoments, FanWalls, stories) also use your web address. Your current FANDEMiQ link keeps working, so anything already printed still reaches fans.
Good to know
Your own email is untouched
The records only let FANDEMiQ send fan emails as your domain. Staff mail keeps going through your mail server as it does today.
Fans always get their email
If the records are ever removed or broken, fans’ emails come from FANDEMiQ’s own address until they are put back, rather than not arriving.
Testing together
At least a week before the first event, someone on your team takes part on a phone using mobile data, not office wifi, and confirms three things.
- The app opens at your web address with a padlock.
- The email arrives from your address, under your sender name, in the inbox rather than spam.
- The link in the email opens on your web address.
If the email doesn’t arrive, we’ll give your IT team the exact time of the test so they can check the server’s logs.
